Dive Package Policies
Deposits and Cancellations
When confirming your dive package reservation, 30% of the total price will be charged on your credit card. The balance will be paid upon your arrival in Playa del Carmen.
- If cancellation occurs more than 15 days before your planned arrival, we will refund the amount charged, keeping $30.00 USD as a cancellation fee.
- If cancellation occurs during the 15 days before your arrival, there will be no refund.
General Dive Package Policies
- Dive package prices include tanks and weights.
- Personal dive equipment rental is not included.
- Diving insurance is not provided by the dive center. Divers are encouraged to carry their own dive insurance. We can assist divers with DAN diving insurance purchases at the dive center in Playa del Carmen.
- Certified divers must provide proof of certification prior to diving. Certified divers have to show a valid diving certification, issued by a recognized international certification agency.
- Students in the Open Water Diver Referral course must bring proof of coursework they have already completed, issued by a recognized international certification agency.
Inclement Weather Policy
Since nature is not under our control, occasionally the local harbor
authorities close the port for navigation on one or more days of your
stay for safety reasons. When the port is officially closed, we are unable
to take boats out for dives. It can happens infrequently, but can occur
on the continental side of the Cozumel channel (Playa del Carmen), or
on the island side (National Marine Park of Cozumel) or, very rarely,
on both sides. In those cases diving must be rescheduled for another day.
If it is not possible to recover the lost dive another day during your
stay, the following arrangements will be made:
- If one or more ocean dives are lost:
- 1 ocean diving day will be changed to a 1 tank cenote dive.
- 2 ocean diving day will be changed to two 1 tank cenote dives or to
one 2 tank cenote dive.
- If Cozumel diving is lost:
- Cozumel diving will be changed into one 2 tank Playa del Carmen ocean
dive, plus the diver will get an extra 1 tank dive.
- If ocean diving in Playa del Carmen is not possible either, Cozumel
diving will be changed to one 2 tank cenote dive.
The open areas of the cenote caverns meet (as do several rivers, quarries
or lakes around the world) the characteristics dive training agencies
require to be considered Open Water training places. Therefore, we can
guarantee that training programs can be completed on time regardless the
weather. Training in the cenote caverns would take place just in the unlikely
situation of a closed harbor because of unsafe navigation conditions.
