Selecting a Playa del Carmen Vacation Package

Packages #111 - #114 include 5 days of diving (3 days with #211 and #212) with different combinations of the various diving destinations near Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Tank-Ha Dive Center offers dives to the wonderful reefs surrounding Playa del Carmen, the National Marine Park of Cozumel and the cenote caverns unique to this part of the world.

Diving in the Playa del Carmen area means easy diving, generally with warm water and good visibility. Besides that, every diving program in Tank-Ha Dive Center is supervised and conducted in a calm, easy pace (you are on vacation, after all!).

Drift diving is the appropriate technique to dive here in the Mexican Caribbean, due to the almost continuous presence of ocean currents in the Cozumel channel. Rather than being an additional problem, this technique allows divers to explore a larger area with a minimum of effort, by comfortably swimming with the current. Upon surfacing, we just wait for the crew to pick us up the easiest way possible.

However, many divers may not like the idea of jumping in the water for a 30m/100 feet dive as the first dive after a while out of the water. With this on mind, we have duplicated all our packages (#121 - #124 and #221 and #222) by including a first day afternoon one tank dive as a warm up dive. This dive will take us to a shallow reef (40 feet/12 m.), where ocean current is usually minimal. The dive will be supervised by diving instructors and provide a descending line to assist divers on the descent.

There are several reasons that might convince you to choose one of these packages, which include, but are not limited to:

• You are or your diving buddy is a newly certified diver and you intend to gain experience and confidence by doing an easy dive first.
• You always like to make your first dive within a diving trip under the easiest conditions.
• You have been away from diving activities for a while, and you would like to "find yourself" underwater again through an especially easy and supervised dive.
• You plan to check your new personal diving equipment under easy diving conditions, since you are not familiar with it yet.
• You want to find your proper weightings while using our rental diving equipment.
• You want to verify, under especially easy conditions, if equalization works as expected.
